Extra: Cooling breath (Sitali & Sitkari Pranayama)

A wonderful way to cool down the system and balance the doshas (it balances the Pitta/ fire dosha) . Sitali means cooling, Sitkari means hissing. These are 2 Pranayama practices with the same benefits and precautions.

Benefits:

  • Cools the body and it’s systems
  • Reduces anxiety and stress
  • Increases concentration
  • Controls hunger and quenches the thirst
  • Reduces high blood pressure
  • Helps bad breath

Precautions:

  • Don´t do it when having LBP
  • When suffering from asthma or a cold don’t do it
  • Don’t do it when you are already cold or are in a very cold environment
